Due to intensification of electrification and more datacentres coming on to the grid, EirGrid’s high demand scenario for the next 10 years predicts growth rates of around 43% growth in electricity demand. With growing global demand for natural gas giving rise to increasing energy prices, Ireland’s transition to indigenous renewable power sources and demand response participation are more vital than ever to provide national security of supply.
